Frequently Asked Questions
Where do you get your ingredients from?
We search the globe for the best ingredients for every one of our formulas. Each ingredient is sourced from approved suppliers who are required to follow industry-standard quality control procedures, including how the ingredients are stored and handled at each step in the supply chain. Every ingredient is quarantined here in the United States and laboratory tested for safety, purity, and potency before it is approved for use in our finished products.
What safety measures are taken for the handling of ingredients and finished products?
Raw materials and finished products are tested using state-of-the-art analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, and ICP-OES. Each lot is tested for microbial levels. In addition, we randomly send samples to top-tier independent labs as a double-check.
Everything from raw material handling, sampling, and storage to mixing and blending ingredients, to bottling, labeling, and testing, is done in a clean environment free of anything that could compromise product quality.
Plus, our manufacturing facilities are third-party certified by industry watchdog organizations such as NPA and NSF International, which means they are audited annually for compliance with FDA regulations for Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs) in the manufacturing, packaging, and labeling of dietary supplements.
Are your products free of GMOs?
We are sensitive to the issue of GMOs in the food supply and the concern about the potential of GMOs in dietary supplements. As a result, we’re committed to developing products and formulations that contain little to no ingredients from genetically modified sources.
Purity Products® makes a concerted effort to work with manufacturers who are committed to using materials that are not GMO-derived wherever and whenever possible. For instances where an ingredient has to be partially or completely GMO-sourced, it’s important to note that once the raw material has been processed and purified, it’s unlikely that any GMOs that were present in the source material would remain.
While we can’t guarantee that every ingredient is GMO-free, we do stand behind each and every one of our formulations for their safety, efficacy, and commitment to quality.
How do you process your fish oil and krill oil products?
Each batch of our fish oil and krill oil is triple-distilled and then tested for purity and potency. Many of our fish and krill products are then sealed with our LemonLock® Freshness System to further preserve freshness and ward off the dreaded fish burps (those that do not utilize LemonLock® are in other formulas that use antioxidants or other ingredients to help preserve freshness). The finished products are then tested for shelf-stability to ensure freshness for 2 years.
Why do some of your products have a “manufactured on” (MFG) date stamped on them?
Manufacture dates are present on some products in accordance with FDA regulations. The estimated shelf life on a product with an MFG date is 24 months from that date.
